Cindy Foster of C. J. Fosters Hair Design in La Grande, puts the finishing touches Friday on a noble fir. Her business entered the tree at the annual Festival of Trees put on by Soroptimist International and their corporate sponsor Boise Cascade at the Blue Mountain Conference Center in La Grande. Foster said the theme for the tree is Here Comes Santa. At the festival, businesses, organizations and individuals donate and decorate trees that are auctioned with proceeds benefitting Shelter From the Storm, CASA, the Kids Club, Union County Childrens Choir and Think Link. The festival opened Friday night with a gala social. Trees can be viewed today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Suggested admission cost is one can of food for the food bank. Santa is slated to make an appearance at the festival today.
