NEW LIFE HOSTS CAVAZOS-ANG

Catherine Cavazos Ang, singer, songwriter and anointed minister, will be at the New Life Center Assemblies of God, 10700 S. Walton Road, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Ang is the daughter of the pastor of a bilingual church where she learned firsthand the beauty of the Latin culture and of ministry. Her fist CD contains the songs "No Weapon" and "Thou Art God."

THE PLACE HOSTS INUIT MINISTRY

Representatives of the Inuit Ministry International, Dr. Suuqiina and Qaumaniq Suuqiina, will be at The Place, 62846 Philynda Loop off Buchanan Road, at 7 p.m. Friday. The couple are artists, musicians, authors and dancers, and both are gifted in the prophetic native expressions of worship and counsel.

They also serve as Northern Gatekeepers for the 120 Drums and as speakers for the All Nations Conference and the Many Nations One Voice conferences, and conduct Healing the Land seminars, among their long list of accomplishments. WELCOME HOME TO ST. PETER’S

Tomorrow is Welcome Home Sunday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Fourth Street and O Avenue. Adult Sunday school will begin at 8 a.m. in the rector’s study, and the initial meeting of a confirmation inquirers’ class will also begin at 8 a.m. in the library. RESCUE APPEARS SEPT. 14-15

First Baptist Church will host Rescue, a contemporary Christian a cappella quartet from Portland at its 7:30 p.m. service on Saturday, Sept. 14, and its 10 a.m. worship service on Sept. 15.

ZION RALLIES SUNDAY

Zion Lutheran Church, 902 Fourth St., will return to two worship services Sunday, with the traditional liturgy at 9 a.m. and an abbreviated blended worship at 11:30 a.m. Both services are followed by fellowship, and Sunday school begins at 10:30 a.m. Tomorrow will be Rally Sunday, as children begin their Sunday school year and everyone recalls last year’s terrorist attacks and their victims.

WHEN WILL THE LORD RETURN?

When will the Lord return? That will be the subject of the lesson Sunday morning at the 9:30 service at Wallowa Church of Christ, Highway 82 at Second Street. Minister Al Sowins will discuss the signs of the Lord’s return, how people might prepare, and what the Scriptures have to say.

PRESBYTERIANS OFFER CLASSES

LA GRANDE

Sunday morning classes for all ages begin this week at 10:45 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in La Grande.

Children will be learning about God’s creation from the first chapter of Genesis, and adults will begin a study of the book of Exodus. Sunday worship begins at 9:30 a.m., and includes a music offering from the choir, and preaching from Exodus 1.

An evening communion service will be held in the sanctuary at 7 p.m.
