AREA GOLFERS DOMINATE FIRST DAY OF DISTRICTS

PENDLETON – At the Wildhorse Golf Course in Pendleton, area golfers dominated the first round of district play.

The La Grande boys’ (District 7 3A), La Grande girls’ (District 7 3A/2A/1A) and Enterprise boys’ (District 4 2A/1A) teams all were in first place after one day.

The Enterprise girls’ team, playing in District 9 3A/2A/1A were second.

Individually, La Grande’s Ricky Gloria shot a 74 to lead the the field, six strokes ahead of J.C. Schram of Ontario.

Also for La Grande, Christian Siltanen shot an 81 to put him in fourth.

La Grande teammates Jessica Marcum and Elizabeth Garton are currently in a battle for first, each tied atop the leader board with a first day score of 89.

Wallowa’s Luke Survis is in first place in District 4 2A/1A after a stellar first day, shooting a 73, four strokes ahead of Prairie City’s Yazzie Voigt.

Enterprise golfer Kayla Stoffel is tied for first with Ontario’s Cecilia Garcia with an 82 as Stoffel tries to defend her district title.

Play finishes today, with tee times starting at 9:45 a.m.
