EOU DROPS EIGHT SPOTS AT CNFR

CASPER, Wyo. – All three of Eastern Oregon University’s women’s rodeo entrants in breakaway riding took "no scores" in Tuesday morning’s second of three go-rounds at the 56th Annual College National Final Rodeo at the Casper Events Center.
After two days of competition the EOU women’s team dropped from 2nd to 10th place in the women’s overall team standings.
Mountaineer Lindsey Peila regrouped to finish 19th in the goat tying event with a time of 7.6, giving her a 14.1 average score on two goats for a tie at 7th place with one run to go.
Danielle Peila took an 11.2 on her second run to finish 43rd on the day and is tied for 34th position with a 19.8 average score.
Kaki McLean continued her solid show in barrel racing with a 14.65 second run today to finish 19th. Combined with her 14.85 second run yesterday, McLean is now in 14th place overall with a 29.50 combined time through two runs.
In bareback riding, junior Derral Thomas, EOU’s only men’s participant, did not make the eight-second whistle Tuesday, falling into a tie for 28th.
Today Thomas will finish up with the third and final go-round in bareback riding.
Also competing in their third go-round will be Lindsay Peila and Marne Wilkins in breakaway roping. Wednesday night, Danielle Peila will be the only Mountaineer in action, as she finishes up her breakaway roping portion of the finals.
