COVE – “Coming home to the heart of God: A vision for mutual

ministry” is the theme of the 2009 Lenten Retreat at Ascension School

Camp and Conference Center in Cove Feb. 27 to March 1.

Featured presenters are the Rev. Marcus Losack, founder and

executive director of Ceile De, an ecumenical organization in Ireland

specializing in study and pilgrimages focuses on Celtic spirituality,

and Regina Roman.

The retreat will draw upon the Celtic cycles of the seasons and

Native Medicine Wheel teachings, offering attendees an opportunity to

discern their identity as known by God.

Losack is an ordained Anglican/ Episcopal priest and served as senior lecturer and course director at St. George’s College, Jerusalem, where he led groups to explore sacred sites in the lands of the Bible, including ancient desert monasteries in Egypt, Syria and Palestine.

Roman is the founder of Sapira – Journey with Purpose, leading pilgrimages to Egypt and New Mexico “focusing on the desert traditions of the wisdom of the spiritual heart.” She has a lay theology degree from Virginia Theological Seminary and has worked with churches in discerning God’s call to them.

Registration is from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday; sessions start Friday evening, continue through Saturday and conclude with a final Sunday morning session: “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God” – followed by Holy Eucharist

Cost for the retreat for those who don’t need overnight lodging is $100 for the weekend, which includes meals. With accommodations, the retreat cost ranges from $140 to $190 per person, including all meals.
