A cruise-in at the La Grande Drive-In Theater kicked off the annual

Grande Ronde-A-View event where the community was invited to come and

view the cars, rock out to music provided by Classic Rock 98.7 and enjoy

an old-fashioned night at the movies.

A glimpse of automobile history was evident Saturday as the public

was treated to more than 120 vintage and classic cars that lined Adams

Avenue Saturday as the Union County Timber Cruisers Car Club presented

its third annual Grande Ronde-A-View car show sponsored by Baxter Auto

Parts.

Most of the collector cars came from various parts of Oregon, Washington and Idaho. The vehicles dated from the early 1920s to a present-day display by local dealers: Goss Motors, 2010 Camero; Frontier Motors, 2010 Challenger; Legacy Ford, 2011 Mustang; and AC Power Sports, several motorcycles.

On Saturday evening, the public had an opportunity to view a parade of the classic cars as they cruised on Adams Avenue.

To wrap up the weekend, 35 cars went on a Poker Cruise, touring Union County. The cruise ended with a barbecue lunch at the Starkey Station.

The third annual Grande Ronde-A-View car show was another huge success due in part to the many generous donations of raffle items and the continued support of the local merchants, businesses and the community, organizers said.
