Cove

Elouise Baker, 96, of Cove, died at home with her family by her side on Friday. A full obituary will be published later.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Cove Cemetery. A public viewing will be held from3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Loveland Funeral Chapel.

Michael F. (Rostock) Breazeal

Formerly of La Grande

1943-2013

Michael F. (Rostock) Breazeal, 69, formerly of

La Grande, died Oct. 28 at his home in Corvallis.

Services will be held in at 1 p.m. Friday at DeMoss-Durrant Funeral Home in Corvallis.

Mike was born Nov. 29, 1943, in La Grande to Francis Breazeal and Doris Masters-Young and was raised in Corvallis, spending much of his childhood with his aunt and uncle, Billie and Gene Minty. Later, he moved back to La Grande, where he graduated from high school with the Class of 1965.

He was married to Beth Breazeal.

Mike joined the Navy directly out of high school. After spending his first year in the Navy on the boxing squad, gaining the title of Pacific Fleet Middleweight Champion, he transitioned into the Underwater Demolition Teams. Mike served in Vietnam and Southeast Asia for the remainder of his time in service. He was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer 2nd Class.

In 1966, Mike joined the Corvallis Police Department. He served as a police officer for more than 26 years. He was a patrolman, sergeant, member of the SWAT team, detective and chief of detectives, and lieutenant, serving as acting chief of police twice. He retired as deputy chief of police in 1992.

During his long tenure on the force, Mike attained many awards and commendation for his service to the community.

Mike spent his last years happily working on their small farm and in his

woodshop.

Mike is survived by his wife, Beth; children, Matt Breazeal and his wife, Starlyn, of Arizona, Luke Breazeal and his wife, Julie, of Albany, Glenn Breazeal of Arizona, and John Breazeal of Wisconsin; sisters, Cindy Lutfi of Florida and Barbie Minty of Idaho; and two grandchildren.

Dorothy Laverne ‘Dottie’ Cabe

La Grande

1942-2013

Dorothy Laverne “Dottie” Cabe, 71, of La Grande, died Oct. 25 at her home. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation and Life Celebration Center, 1502 Seventh St. in La Grande.

Dottie was born on April 5, 1942, the daughter of Russell and Mae (Thompson) Doescher in Portland. The family moved to Oregon in 1945 and to La Grande in 1947. She spent her senior year of high school in Portland and graduated with the Class of 1960 from St. Mary’s Girl’s Academy.

She married Jess Tetrick in April 1965. They had two children together, and he preceded her in death in 1989. She worked most of her life in the food service industry. She worked at the Sacajawea Hotel, DeBorde’s Cafe and the American Legion. She later owned and operated the Eastside Tavern until selling it in 2003. She then worked for the truck stop and then New Day Enterprises. She was a member of the Emblem Club and loved sports of all kinds. She was beloved by all she knew, family members said.

Survivors include her son, Jeff and Denise Tetrick of La Grande; daughter, Jennie Tetrick and Hans Kirschner of Boise; three grandchildren; sister, Diane Scovell of Caldwell; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Mae, and her in-laws, Glen and Sadie Tetrick.

In lieu of flowers, donations for the memorial service may be made at any branch of Sterling Bank in care of Dottie Cabe.

Bonnie Marie Kearns

La Grande

1921-2013

Bonnie Marie Kearns, 92, of La Grande, died Oct. 28 at a local care facility. A memorial service will be held at

11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church.

Bonnie was born on July 22, 1921, the daughter of William Rutherford and Olive (Eveland) Rutherford in Regent, N.D. She graduated from Regent High School with the Class of 1939.

On Oct. 26, 1945, she married James Edward Kearns in Regent. In 1957, they moved to La Grande. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Chapter I PEO, Knife and Fork Club and Good Sams. She was active with a bridge club for many years. She was a master seamstress and loved traveling and birding. Local musical events were important to her, and she attended them all before her health curtailed her ability to do

so.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Karolyn and Bob McMillan of Pendleton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003; her son, William “Bill” Kearns, and siblings, Kelly Rutherford, Hazel Larson and Jeanette Wiseman.

Patricia Salehian

La Grande

1936-2013

Patricia Louise Salehian, 77, of La Grande, died Oct. 25 at her home. There will be

no public services at this time.

Patricia was born on July 9, 1936, the daughter of Roy and Florence (Lane) Meyers in Glendale, Calif.

After high school, she married James Ralph Loebs, Sr. but the marriage ended in divorce. She later married Ali Salehian in Las Vegas. They came to La Grande from California in 1982.

She worked as a cook for Glendale Memorial Hospital in California, and when she came to La Grande, she worked at Valley View Care Center and later Grande Ronde Hospital.

She was a member of the Catholic Church, the Grande Ronde Hospital Auxiliary and the Rusty Wheels Car Club. Cooking was her passion, and she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Denise Fasolino of

La Grande, James and Patricia Loebs of California, Sandra and Barry Brown of

La Grande, Jeff and Vicki Loebs of Brookings and John Loebs of La Grande; close family friend, Bobby Cornford and her family; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents.
