CHD will not haveflu clinic Friday
The Center for Human Development will not be having a walk-in flu clinic on Friday.
The CHD asks people to visit one of its partnering providers or pharmacies, such as Rite Aid, Safeway and Bi-Mart, for their flu vaccine needs.
Aid available forhigh school projects
High school students interested in completing a senior project on breast health education can get help.
Financial aid to support such a project is availablefrom Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Past senior projects with this focus have included breast cancer fundraisers, breast health education days at school and breast cancer awareness basketball or footballgames.

Shopping localgets less stressful
For all those looking forward to begin their Christmas shopping in downtown, the first gift of the season just arrived.
According to the Union County Chamber of Commerce, starting the Friday after Thanksgiving, and running through the Friday after Christmas, the City ofLa Grande has granted an exception to the two-hour parking time limit downtown on Fridays.
Thanksgiving DayFun Run set
Grande Ronde Road Runners are presenting a Thanksgiving Day Fun Run. There is free on-site registration at 8:30 a.m., and the race starts at 9 a.m. Runners are asked to meet at EONI, 808 Adams Ave. The race will feature 3- and 5-mile course maps, runner numbers and stopwatch timing, and light refreshments afterward.

Project Independence helps frail senoirs
Oregon Project Independence is designed to provide in-home care services for frail seniors 60 years and older who wish to remain in their own home but are at risk of institutionalization and not eligible for Medicaid.

Team offers Black Friday Babysitters
The Dance Arts Inc. high school team is raising funds by offering Black Friday Babysitters from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Central Elementary School gym. This is for children from potty trained through age 10. Activities will include coloring, dress up, dance fun, basketball, jump rope, Legos and face paint. Parents are asked to pack a lunch for the kids if they will be there over the lunch hour. Cost is $10 for half a day, or $20 for all day.

Nile club meets Dec. 2 for gift exchange
