UNION – Union United Methodist Church is starting a new program.
A prayer group will meet between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. each Wednesday evening.
Everyone in the community is welcome to come and pray with the group, or have the group pray for them.
People can also give the group their prayer requests, and the group will pray accordingly. These requests can be given to the church members in a number of ways. They can write a request on a log that will be available at the church Fellowship Hall during other programs that are happening in the building (for example, senior lunch, food bank, Fresh Alliance or church service). They can write on a piece of paper and drop it through the slot in the office door at the church, 667 N. Main St. in Union, or call and leave a message on the phone at the church (541-562-5848). They can also mail the request to Union UMC, P.O. Box 476, Union or email the group at prayergroup216@gmail.com.
The prayer group will meet in the sanctuary but will be informal and no particular program is planned except the time spent in prayer. Anyone can participate either by attending or sending in their prayer requests.
One exception to the Wednesday evening time is Christmas Day.
That week, the church will have a Community Christmas Eve Service at 5:30 p.m. that will include special music. Everyone in the community and beyond is welcome.
