Sara Margaret (Williams) Gilmore

Formerly of La Grande

Sara Margaret (Williams) Gilmore, 79, died April 19 in Norfolk, Va. She and her husband, Electrician’s Mate Chief David C. Gilmore, U.S. Navy retired, lived in La Grande from 1964 to 1968, where he was the local Navy recruiter. Condolences to the family may be offered at www.holloman-brown.com. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Lilesville United Methodist Church, 310 E. Wall St., Lilesville, NC 28091. No funeral services are planned.

David died Feb. 4, 2010, at age 75.

Ervin F. Botts

Enterprise

1915-2014

Ervin Fred Botts, 98, died May 3 in Enterprise.

Services will be held at

11 a.m. Saturday at the Cloverleaf Hall in Enterprise, followed by a potluck.

Ervin was born in Flora Nov. 26, 1915, the oldest of seven children, and raised on Buford Ridge by Fred and Leila Garrett Botts.

He attended school on Buford Ridge, Flora, and graduated from Anatone High School in 1937.

After graduation, he worked on several jobs, and made a career of operating heavy equipment on road construction. He retired in 1978 and enjoyed working in his shop and collecting license plates.

Ervin married Charlene (Boyd) Botts on March 29, 1952. They had four children, sons Richard Botts and his spouse, Anita, Brice Botts and Rod Botts, and daughter Sheri Botts Rosenbaum and her spouse, Charles.

Ervin was a member of the Eagles and Moose

lodges. He enjoyed reminiscing about the past with family and friends. He also enjoyed country music, hunting with his sons and traveling throughout the United States.

Ervin is survived by his wife; sons; a son-in-law; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grand children; one great-great-grandchild; sisters and their spouses, Calista (Ed) Lampkins, Norma Elliott and Zuah (Bud) Birkmaier; sister-in-law, Jan Botts; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Leila Botts; daughter, Sheri Rosenbaum; brothers, Ivan Botts, Gifford Botts and Dwight Botts; brother-in-law, Jack Elliott; and sister-in-law, Maxine Botts.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.

Dawn Rae Buckley

La Grande

1959-2014

Dawn Rae Buckley, 54, of La Grande, died May 3 from complications related to an injury sustained in 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church with a lunch reception following. Interment will be at a later time.

Elgin

1976-2014

Ellie Jolene Peterson, 38, of Elgin, died May 1 at home surrounded by family.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday

at the Elgin Christian Church. Casual dress is requested.

Following the service, a dinner will be held at the Elgin Stampede Hall. For potluck information, call Dena Rysdam Ledbetter at 541-786-2354.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray medical expenses.
