Search warrant yields several drug-related arrests

One arrest in Baker City on Thursday led police to serve a search warrant in La Grande on Friday afternoon.
On Thursday, Baker City police officers arrested three men in Baker City after seizing methamphetamine and items used to deliver meth.
The Baker City police were following up on information they received about possible drug activity in a room at the El Dorado Inn motel in Baker City, according to a press release from the Baker City Police Department. Police found one ounce of meth, items used to deliver meth and a small amount of cash in the room. One of the suspects was also in possession of a restricted weapon. Police arrested Dustine Lynn Dougherty, 45, Baker City, on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Police also arrested William Gabriel Rogers, 35, La Grande, on charges of unlawful possession of meth, unlawful manufacture/delivery of meth, felon in possession of a restricted weapon, and Harvey Franklin Spivey, 60, Baker City, on charges of second-degree criminal trespass. All three were arrested at 11:48 a.m. Thursday at the El Dorado Inn.
The Baker City Police Department continued the investigation and received information that led to the service of a search warrant at 1102 H Ave. in
La Grande on Friday.
At that residence, Matthew Allen Christensen, 34, who lives at the residence, was arrested on charges of possession and delivery of meth. Christensen is being charged in Baker City, according to BCPD Lt. Dustin Newman.
Jeremy Paul Beske, 41, was arrested on charges of possession of meth, and Valayshea Sanae Shaffer, 27, was arrested on charges of possession of meth.
Additional drug-related items, cash and weapons were located during the service of the warrant.
The operation was a joint effort with detectives of the Union Wallowa County Drug Task Force and patrol deputies and officers from the Union County Sheriff’s Office, the La Grande Police Department and Baker City Police Department.
Newman said the investigation remains open.
La Grande Lt. Derick Reddington said there are likely more charges pending.
Additionally, the task force and BCPD executed another search warrant on Sept. 1, at 1610 Russell Ave. in La Grande.
Trevor S. Booth, 33, was arrested at the Russell Avenue residence on charges of possession and distribution of meth.
This operation was a joint effort with detectives of the Union Wallowa County Drug Task Force and patrol deputies and officers from the Union County Sheriff’s Office and the La Grande Police Department.
