A team from Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry led by Levi Hug is facilitating a Faith Explosion Conference at New Hope Christian Church, 2630 Bearco Loop, La Grande today through Sunday. The free meetings will begin at7 p.m. today; 10 a.m.,

Fellowship dinner hosted Wednesday
The second Sunday after Epiphany will be celebrated during the 9:30 a.m. worship service at the First Presbyterian Church in La Grande. The sermon, “Jesus Calling,” will be based on Psalm 19 and Luke 4:14-21. Holy Communion will also be served. Fellowship will follow the service.
A Wednesday Night Community Fellowship dinner begins at 6 p.m.
Righteousness explored in sermon
Saturday at the La Grande Seventh-day Adventist Church in La Grande, Pastor Mike will continue to look at what the Bible reveals about righteousness and how it connects to how we are transformed by God’s power into someone we are not. The service begins at 11 a.m.
Story shows trust strengthens faith
The sermon at Faith Lutheran Church in La Grande this Sunday will expound upon John 2:1-11, which tells of the wedding in Cana at which Jesus performed a miracle. His mother shared an observation concerning the supplies at the reception and trusted Him to solve the problem. The miracle was accomplished when the servants followed his directions, and in the process the people’s faith was increased. The service begins at 10 a.m. and will include the installation of the 2016 church officers.
Ruth is focus of Sunday’s message
Doug Edmonds’ message this Sunday at the La Grande Church of Christ, “God with Us: The Things We Do for Love,” will consider the actions of Ruth. The 10:30 a.m. service includes Communion as well as “Kingdom Kids” during the sermon. Sunday morning classes for all ages are from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

‘Walking with Jesus’ is sermon topic
COVE- Grace Community Lutheran Church in Cove will celebrate God’s word with a worship service beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Carl Seelhoff’s sermon title will be “Walking with Jesus,” taken from John 2. Adult Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. Fellowship follows the service.
The men’s Bible study and breakfast meets at 7:30 a.m. every Thursday. Transportation to church services is available.
Lay speaker reveals ‘Pulse of Life’
La Grande’s United Methodist Church will celebrate the second Sunday after Epiphany during the 10 a.m. service this Sunday. Lay Speaker Mike Lamb will speak on “The Pulse of Life.” While child care is available, all are welcome in the service. The service is followed by coffee and fellowship.
Bible study group gathers in Summerville
Zion Lutheran Church in La Grande will worship this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. with Pastor Colleen Nelson. A time of fellowship follows.
Monday evening there will be a women’s Bible study at 7 p.m. at the home of Carolyn Pierce, 707 Main St., Summerville. Tuesday the Quilters will meet at 9 a.m. at the church, and at 6:30 p.m. the Student Worship Art Team meets.
Say ‘I love you’ with a Cookie Gram
Pastor Ray Smith will preach on the Lord’s Prayer at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in La Grande at the 10 a.m. service. His message will come from Luke 11:1-13.
Valentine’s Day is approaching and the Christian Women’s Fellowship is once again selling Cookie Grams, to be delivered Feb. 12 and 13. Order forms are now available in the church office. A one dozen plate is $5, and a two dozen plate is $9, and will be delivered along with your own special message.
Vestry will meet after the service
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in La Grande will observe the second Sunday after the Epiphany with Holy Eucharist at 9 a.m. The Rev. Kathryn Macek will preside and preach. The vestry will meet following the service.
Centering Prayer is offered Tuesdays at 8:30 a.m.; a midweek Eucharist is offered Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m.; and Morning Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer is offered Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. Weekday services are in the chapel.
