LHS Class of ‘59 plans 60th reunion

LA GRANDE — The La Grande High School Class of 1959 is planning its 60th reunion. The planning committee will meet at noon Aug. 12 at the Cock-n-Bull Restaurant in preparation for the Sept. 13-14 event. All classmates are invited to attend the planning meeting and the reunion.

LG School Board meets next week

LA GRANDE — The Board of Directors of the La Grande School District will have a regular board meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 14 in the District Office Conference Room, 1305 N. Willow St.

Class held for caregivers of older adults

BAKER CITY — Oregon Care Partners is hosting Safe Medication Use in Older Adults, a class for caregivers, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Sunridge Inn, 1 Sunridge Lane, Baker City. The free class is designed to help anyone who cares for an aging Oregonian understand how medicines work in older adults and learn skills to optimize care. Individuals who provide care for an aging family member or loved one, as well as those who work in professional caregiver settings, public safety or social work, are encouraged to attend. Public invited to meet library director candidates

LA GRANDE — The City of La Grande volunteer Library Director Search Team has selected five finalists in the search for a new director for the Cook Memorial Library. The public is invited to attend presentations by the finalists from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 13 in the library’s Community Room, 2006 Fourth St. Each candidate will give a 15-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute question and answer period.

LG Rural Fire District meets Tuesday

LA GRANDE — The La Grande Rural Fire Protection District will have a board meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 13 at the fire hall.

Union City Council to meet Aug. 12

UNION — The Union City Council will meet Monday for a work session and its regular monthly meeting. The work session will start at 6 p.m. and the meeting at 7 p.m. Both will be at city hall.
