Badgers win two more

The Powder Valley Badgers picked up two more wins in Old Oregon League action Thursday, sweeping the Imbler Panthers, 25-12, 25-19, 25-16, and later the Griswold Grizzlies, 25-7, 25-12, 25-13. Both games were played in Imbler.

Stats were not available for the Badgers.

For the Panthers, both Erin Coston and Aspen Smith recorded four kills. Coston also had 10 digs, while Anika McDonald added 13 digs and Rylee Deal had 14 assists.

The Badgers (26-1 overall, 9-0 OOL) visit Cove today and host Nixyaawii and Union Saturday, while the Panthers (11-13, 8-3) wait to see who they will play in the OOL district tournament on Oct. 26.

Bobcats win in four

The Union Bobcats shook off a first-set loss to topple Weston-McEwen on the road Thursday, 20-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-20, and move one win away from an undefeated Blue Mountain Conference season.

“We just fought till the very end,” head coach Karly Knapp said. “Bottom line in the end of all those games the girls realized we wanted to be undefeated in league. We’re not undefeated (yet) but that would have prevented it (if we lost).”

Autumn Daggett and Kylie Marriott again led the Bobcats’ attack with 17 and 12 kills, respectively. Marriott also added 12 digs. Callie Glenn tallied 38 assists, and Brianna Kohr scooped up 23 digs.

Union (19-2 overall, 11-0 BMC) travels to Powder Valley Saturday.

Outlaws fall in four

The Enterprise Outlaws took a set from the Stanfield Tigers Thursday, but ultimately dropped the Blue Mountain Conference match 25-15, 25-15, 22-25, 25-21.

Enterprise (8-13 overall, 1-8 BMC) hosts Grant Union and Pilot Rock Saturday.
