Kathryn Ann Cray, 74, of La Grande, died Oct. 21 at a local care facility. At her request, there will not be a service.

Kathryn was born Nov. 2, 1944, in La Grande, to Raymond and Kathryn (Gregory) McFarland. She lived in La Grande, Bend and Jerusalem, Israel. She graduated from La Grande High School. On March 12, 1990, Kathryn married Donald F. Cray in Israel, where they lived for a year before moving to Bend. 

Kathryn worked at McDonald’s in Bend and was a homemaker. She enjoyed painting, drawing, reading the Bible and taking walks around town. She loved her family dearly. Kathryn was gentle and caring but could also be mischievous at times.

Survivors include her siblings, Richard McFarland of Union, Marilyn McFarland of Union, Mark McFarland and wife, Gayle, of Cottage Grove, John McFarland of McMinnville, and Janine McFarland of Bend; special family friend, Bob Peterson; 10 nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and cousins and spouses, Margaret and Sam Wade of Wallowa, Jean and Neil Cooper of La Grande, and Lynn Eyberg of Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Kathryn McFarland; husband, Don Cray; grandmother, Jesse McFarland; and grandfather, Dr. John Gregory.
