Christine Larie Asla, 67, of King City and formerly of La Grande, died Jan. 13 at her home. A service will be held in the spring. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.
Christine was born Feb. 27, 1952, in La Grande to Billy and Marjorie (Isaacson) Lanman. She graduated from Churchill High School in Eugene with the class of 1970. On Dec. 18, 1971, Christine married Gregory Alan Haller in Eugene. The marriage ended on Dec. 31, 1973.
Christine moved back to La Grande and went to work for the Oregon State Police as support personnel in June 1973. On June 4, 1977, she married Ralph Lee Asla in La Grande.
Christine lived in various places until settling in King City. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing, and she liked to crochet. She loved her cat, Peaches.
Surviving relatives include her siblings and their spouses, Mark and Peggy Lanman of La Grande, Michael and Vicki Lanman of La Grande, Robert Allen and Judy Lanman of Pendleton and Cynthia and Bob Weber of La Grande; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ralph Asla, in 1996.
