OHA reports more than 8,100 new COVID-19 cases over last five days

LA GRANDE — The Oregon Health Authority reported 54 deaths from COVID-19 and 5,821 new confirmed and presumptive cases in Oregon between Friday, Sept. 3, and Monday, Sept. 6. The most recent report for Tuesday showed another 2,352 cases and 47 deaths. 

In that five days, Union County experienced 64 new cases and Wallowa County tallied 21.

Oregon’s COVID-19 death toll since the start of the pandemic stands at 3,373 and the total number of cases in the state has reached 291,978.

Through the start of September, Union County is up to 101 total cases and Wallowa County stands at 47.

Across the state, 1,138 patients are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 and 297 are in ICU beds. There are 43 ICU beds available out of 640 total and 343 non-ICU beds open out of 4,336 in Oregon.
