OHA reports two new COVID-19 cases in Wallowa County, one new case in Union County

SALEM — The Oregon Health Authority released its daily COVID-19 report on Wednesday, Dec. 29, revealing one new case in Union County and two new cases in Wallowa County.

The update increased Union County’s case count since the start of the pandemic to 3,517, while Wallowa County’s total increased to 782. Neither county tallied any COVID-19 deaths on the latest update.

Across Oregon, 2,331 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases were totaled by OHA. The new cases brought the statewide case count since the beginning of COVID-19 to 418,333. OHA reported nine new deaths in Oregon, bringing the state’s death toll to 5,640.

OHA’s weekly COVID-19 outbreak report revealed 48 active COVID-19 outbreaks in Oregon.

There are currently 419 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in Oregon, which is an increase of 21 patients from yesterday’s report. OHA reported that there are 50 available adult ICU beds out of 649 in Oregon. Out of 4,112 total adult non-ICU beds, 298 are currently open.

Oregon’s seven-day running average of vaccine doses per day is 13,766.
