OHA reports one new COVID-19 case in Union County

SALEM — The Oregon Health Authority released its daily COVID-19 report, revealing one new COVID-19 death in Wallowa County.
A 98-year-old woman from Wallowa County tested positive on Jan. 12 and died on Jan. 23 at her residence. According to OHA, the woman had underlying conditions.
Union County tallied one new COVID-19 case, while Wallowa County did not experience any cases in the latest report. The new death increased Wallowa County’s death toll to 15.
The new case increased Union County’s total case count to 5,006 since the start of the pandemic. Wallowa County’s total stands at 1,241.
Across the state, 433 new confirmed and presumptive cases were reported by OHA — Oregon’s case count since the start of the pandemic increased to 698,982. The report showed 54 new deaths, increasing the state’s death toll to 6,854.
According to OHA, there are currently 271 patients hospitalized with COVID-19. There are 94 open adult ICU beds out of 653 in the state. Out of 4,314 total adult non-ICU beds, 323 are available.
In OHA’s latest breakthrough case report, 40.6% (1,667) of the cases between Feb. 27 and March 5 were among vaccinated individuals. There were 2,436 (59.4%) cases among unvaccinated individuals.
Oregon’s seven-day running average of vaccine doses per day is 2,957.
