College volleyball: Mountaineers sweep past Warner Pacific

LA GRANDE — No. 2-ranked Eastern Oregon volleyball team had little issue on Friday, Sept. 16, rolling to a 25-13, 25-11, 25-13 sweep of Warner Pacific in Cascade Collegiate Conference action at Quinn Coliseum.

The Mounties continued their string of dominant offensive performances and stifling defense. Offensively, the Mounties had 44 kills to Warner Pacific’s 18. The Mountaineers utilized a balanced attack having five players with six or more kills. Eastern was particularly effective serving on the night with seven aces.
Defensively, the Mounties held a big advantage in the block category with eight blocks to WPU’s two.
EOU continues conference play Sept. 17 when it hosts Multnomah University at home with first serve set for 5 p.m. in Quinn Coliseum.
