- Members of the public gather at Eastern Oregon University's David E. Gilbert Event Center on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, for a Oregon Public Utility Commission public comment hearing regarding the proposed Boardman to Hemingway transmission line. The PUC is considering Idaho Power's petition for a certificate of public convenience and necessity.
If you missed one or more issues of The Observer this week, here are a couple of stories you might have missed.
Reporter Isabella Crowley had the latest on Union County Sheriff Cody Bowen’s decision to not enforce Ballot Measure 114.
Crowley attended the Oregon Public Utility Commission’s public comments hearing about the proposed Boardman to Hemingway transmission line at Eastern Oregon University. The hearing was one of the early steps in the commission’s quasi-judicial process to either grant or deny Idaho Power’s petition for a certificate of public necessity.
One of the more unusual stories we’ve had this week came from our related paper, the Baker City Herald, about the shock of warm water killing young trout at Anthony Lake.
Next week, Eastern Oregon University leaders talk about campus reaction to a pair of recent killings on or near college campuses.
