BAKER CITY — Baker Technical Institute is offering a free 10-day welding academy June 12-27. The course is open to ages 16 and older.

The class will meet Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon at BTI, 2500 E St., Baker City. More information is available by calling BTI at 541-524-2651 or online at bakerti.org.

BTI received a Future Ready Oregon grant through the Higher Education Coordinating Commission. The $89,500 covers the welding course and other projects, said Doug Dalton, BTI president.
