8:45 a.m.: Union County Sheriff’s Office received a call about criminal mischief on Fox Hill Road in La Grande. A deputy responded and took a report.

9:14 a.m.: A caller told the Union County Sheriff’s Office about a missing cat on the 2800 block of Third Street in La Grande.

9:45 a.m.: Union County Sheriff’s Office received a call about dogs found at the La Grande United Methodist Church. An animal enforcement officer responded and took the dogs to the shelter.

9:49 a.m.: A caller told the Union County Sheriff’s Office about possible transients on the 10700 block of South Walton Road in Island City. A deputy responded and removed drug paraphernalia.

11:11 a.m.: Union County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a dog bite on Adams Avenue in La Grande.

11:22 a.m.: A caller reported a possible intoxicated subject at Safeway to La Grande police. Officers responded and arrested Duane Michael Thompson, 73, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

12:43 p.m.: Union County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a dog bite in La Grande.

1:11 p.m.: La Grande police received a third-party report of a disturbance on the 500 block of B Avenue. Officers responded and arrested Joshua Christopher Rauli, 38, for second-degree disorderly conduct.

2:52 p.m.: A caller told the Union County Sheriff’s Office about a dog locked in a vehicle at Final Cut Pizza and Pub. An animal enforcement officer responded and determined the dog was fine.

3:33 p.m.: Union County Sheriff’s Office received a call about dogs attacking a goat on Skyline Lane in La Grande. An animal enforcement officer determined the report was unfounded.

5:29 p.m.: A caller requested La Grande police trespass a male subject from a business at Adams Avenue and Greenwood Street. Officers responded and officially trespassed the subject.

THURSDAY, AUG. 24

2:09 a.m.: Law enforcement received a call about a dog bite in Elgin. A Union County Sheriff’s deputy responded along with medics and took a report.

6:48 a.m.: La Grande police took a report for a returned runaway.

8:19 a.m.: La Grande police took a report of escape and resisting at Union County Jail.

9:33 a.m.: A caller told the Union County Sheriff’s Office about littering on the 58700 block of Godley Road in Union. A deputy reached out and took the information. Law enforcement will also follow up.

12:44 p.m.: Union County Sheriff’s Office arrested Douglas Jay Scott Jr., 41, on a Union County failure to appear warrant for contempt of court.

1:28 p.m.: A caller informed the Union County Sheriff’s Office about suspicious circumstances in Summerville. A deputy advised and the situation was referred to detectives.

3:36 p.m.: College Place Police Department in Walla Walla, Washington, arrested Jessica Spalinger, 32, on a Union County warrant. Charges included recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving and failure to perform the duties of a driver to an injured person.

3:45 p.m.: La Grande police received a call about an attempted theft on the 2200 block of Alder Street. An officer responded and checked the area but was unable to locate the subject.

4:39 p.m.: A caller told La Grande police about a suspicious person on the 1700 block of Adams Avenue. The responding officer provided resources and assistance.

5:36 p.m.: A caller requested contact from La Grande police regarding shoplifting from Jay Dee’s Market. An officer responded and took a report.

5:46 p.m.: La Grande police received a call about a disturbance on the 1900 block of N Avenue. Officers responded and arrested Michael Jay Terkelson Jr., 24, for strangulation.

10:39 p.m.: A caller reported a disturbance at Moon Motel to La Grande police. Officers responded and the subject was uncooperative.
