Nash officially files candidacy for Oregon State Senate in District 29

ENTERPRISE — Wallowa County Commissioner Todd Nash announced Thursday, Sept. 14, that he has officially filed his candidacy for Oregon State Senate District 29 in the 2024 Republican Primary Election.

Nash announced his intent and launched his campaign on March 30. Nash is running to replace Sen. Bill Hansell, R-Athena, who is not seeking reelection. Three other candidates have announced their intentions to enter the race — Wallowa County resident Andy Huwe, Hermiston Mayor Dave Drotzmann and Jim Doherty, a former Morrow County commissioner.

Nash was elected as Wallowa County commissioner in 2016 and has served as president of the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association since 2021. In addition, he has been active with the Association of Oregon Counties and the National Association of Counties. He is the immediate past co-chair of the Wallowa County 4H FFA Fair Livestock Sale, having served for 15 years.

Senate District 29 includes all of Wallowa, Union, Umatilla, Morrow, Gilliam, Sherman and Wheeler counties, north Jefferson County, most of Wasco County, the Warm Springs reservation, and a small portion of Clackamas and Marion counties.
