College women’s soccer: Mountaineers fail to score, fall to Southern Oregon

LA GRANDE — Southern Oregon’s Emily Hyde scored the game’s only goal and goalie Ashlynn Hernandez made it stand with eight saves to lead the Raiders to a 1-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference win over Eastern Oregon on Saturday, Sept. 30, in La Grande.

The loss ends a nine-match unbeaten streak for the Mountaineers (4-1-4 overall, 2-1-2 CCC).
Hyde’s goal came at the 12:39 mark of the first half and was unassisted.
Eastern Oregon racked up five shots in the first half with four of them being on goal but were unable to find the back of the net.

The Mountaineers’ Erika Skindlov had three shots on goal in the loss and Carly Imes added a pair of shots on goal.
Eastern Oregon will be back in action at 3 p.m. Oct. 6 at Carroll College.
