College volleyball: EOU avenges only loss of season

LA GRANDE – Third-ranked Eastern Oregon avenged its only loss of the season in impressive fashion Saturday night at Quinn Coliseum. The Mountaineers swept past Northwest (Washington) 25-21, 25-19, 25-15 to improve to 21-1 overall and 14-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

EOU had a hitting percentage of .245 in the match compared to .053 for the visitors as Sade Williams led the way with 12 kills and Mylie Mills added nine. Kiauna Mack recorded six blocks and Mills added five. Hailey Arritola recorded 16 digs and Hannah Ledgerwood dished out 22 assists.
Northwest was led by Karste Wright’s eight kills. Northwest downed EOU in five sets on Sept. 15 but could not find the same magic on Saturday.
The Mountaineers are back home in action Tuesday, Oct. 17 when they host The College of Idaho at 7 p.m.
