Trevor Treat and his Panther teammates will be checking the rankings closely as Imbler closes out the regular season at home on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023.

IMBLER – The Imbler offense has put up more than 40 points in each of the last five games including a 48-14 victory over Union on Friday, Oct. 20 in Imbler, extending the win streak for the Panthers to five games.

The Panthers had the game well in hand early, leading 24-6 at the half. Imbler scored an additional 16 points in the third quarter, allowing coach Dustan Adams to sit his starters and close out the game with younger players.

“Union actually did a good job of controlling time of possession in this game,” said Adams. “We had some big plays to put points on the board.”

Game and individual statistics for the game were unavailable.

Imbler (7-1 overall, 5-1 1A 8-Man Special District 2) closes out the regular season with a nonleague contest at home versus Sherman/Condon (2-6 overall). The Huskies and Panthers take the field at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27.

Adams and the Panthers will be watching the rankings very carefully over the next week as the top four ranked teams in the state receive a bye for the first round of the state playoffs. Imbler currently sits in that coveted fourth spot with Myrtle Point at three and St. Paul holding down the fifth spot.
