College volleyball: EOU wins top-10 battle

LA GRANDE – In a battle of top-10 teams, third-ranked Eastern Oregon rebounded from a slow start to down No. 6 Corban 24-26, 25-17, 27-25, 25-14 on Saturday.

EOU registered a combined hitting percentage of .200, dwarfing Corban’s .086. Leading the charge for the Mounties was Keira Vaughn with 17 kills on a .375 hitting percentage. Sade Williams added 11 kills and 16 digs. Alexis McMurtrey dished out 22 assists and 18 digs. Hailey Arritola led all players with 29 digs.
Corban was paced by Rylee Troutman’s 13 kills.
The victory gave EOU commanding control of the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings as the Mountaineers improved to 26-1 overall and 19-1 in conference play.
