The La Grande volleyball team joined football, boys and girls cross-country and girls soccer with grade point averages above 3.0 during the 2023 fall season.

LA GRANDE — Not all of the La Grande teams accomplished all their goals during the fall sports season, but the teams did find success in the classroom.

The Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) released the organization’s Academic All-State listing for the fall season with the Tigers well represented.

Leading La Grande teams in the 4A division, the girls cross-country team placed eighth after a cumulative grade point average of 3.82. One spot behind in ninth, the Tiger football team finished ninth in the standings with the offense and defense combining for a 3.14 GPA.

The volleyball team finished the fall sports season with a 10th-place showing in the 4A ranks after coming together for a 3.69 GPA.

La Grande’s girls soccer team placed 13th among teams in the state with a 3.56 GPA and the boys soccer team finished 17th among teams in the state with a GPA of 3.21.

Due to the efforts of the fall sports teams, La Grande High School will receive points towards the OSAA Cup, an end of the year award honoring the year’s successes.
