Joe and Phyllis (Phippen) Bechtel, of Elgin, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary at an open house on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 2-5 p.m. at the Elgin Stampede Hall. The party is hosted by their children, Vickie Hook (Don), Shellie Rysdam (Jess) and Tammie McEnroe, who invite friends to join the celebration. Phyllis and Joe, retired ranchers, have six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
