ELGIN — Members of the Elgin football and volleyball teams were recently recognized for their efforts in the classroom by the Oregon School Activities Association.

The Huskies football team ended the first quarter with a cumulative 3.04 grade point average, seventh best in the state’s 1A division. Crosspoint Christian grabbed the top spot after posting a 3.54 GPA.

The volleyball team ended the quarter with a 3.70 grade point average, placing the Elgin team 11th in the standings among 1A teams.

With a 3.99 GPA, Wallowa not only led the 1A ranks but maintained the highest grade point average among all volleyball teams in the state.
