LA GRANDE — To see that first glimpse of the new season of La Grande boys basketball, Tiger fans will need to make a trip to Umatilla.

The Tigers kickoff the season on Wednesday, Nov. 29, taking the court against 3A Umatilla. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Coach Shawn Brooks’ team start the season after a 12-12 overall record last season, finishing third in the 4A Greater Oregon League standings behind Pendleton and league champion Baker. This year, the Tigers take the court after losing eight players to graduation.

La Grande hopes to start the season as the team did last season when the Tigers downed Umatilla 60-28 to start the 2022-23 season.
