IMBLER — The Imbler boys basketball team rode a big third quarter to open its season with a 57-32 victory over Notus, Idaho, on Thursday, Nov. 30.

The Panthers led at the half 27-12 and put the game away with a 22-point third quarter. Eleven Panthers contributed to the victory with points on the board, led by 14 from Jake Bingaman. Justin Frost added 12 points.

The win came despite some problems at the free-throw line for the Panthers and a game that saw the Pirates assessed four technical fouls on both players and coaches.

“It was a good first game for us,” Imbler head coach Tony Haddock said. “We missed some easy shots and were poor from the line but I thought we rebounded and defended well.”

Imbler (1-0 overall) remains at home against Weston-McEwen on Dec. 2 with a start time of 5:30 p.m.
