HUNTINGTON — The long trip to Huntington worked out for Elgin as the team evened up its season record to 2-2 with a 47-45 win over the Locomotives on Saturday, Dec. 9.

Team and individual statistics were not provided for the game.

Elgin makes an early foray into 1A Old Oregon League play with a trip to Joseph (2-4 overall) on Dec. 12. This will mark the first league showing for both squads. 

Leopards perfect at John Howey Memorial

MAUPIN — Cove wrapped up two days of basketball at the John Howey Memorial with two victories at South Wasco County High School.

The Leopards started the tournament with a 61-41 win over Southwest Christian on Friday, Dec. 8. The following day, Cove took on host South Wasco County, taking a 54-40 victory.

Team and individual statistics were not provided for the games.

Cove (4-1 overall) will be on the road on Dec. 14 for three days of action at the Bobcat Classic in Union.
