NORTH POWDER — Powder Valley celebrated its home tournament, the memory of a coach and official and a perfect showing as the Calvin Hiatt Invitational wrapped up action on Saturday, Dec. 9, in North Powder.

After a 56-50 victory over 3A Nyssa on Thursday, Dec. 7, the Badgers downed Prairie City/Burnt River, 44-30, on Dec. 8. Powder Valley closed out its home tournament with a 35-34 win over Four Rivers on Dec. 9.
Team and individual statistics were not provided for the games.
Powder Valley (3-2 overall) will travel to Union on Dec. 14 for two days of tournament action at the Bobcat Classic.

Huskies down Locomotives in nonleague action
HUNTINGTON — Elgin rolled to a 49-21 nonleague victory over Huntington on Saturday, Dec. 9, on the road in Huntington.
Team and individual statistics for the game were not provided.
Elgin (2-2 overall) makes a trip to Joseph (2-4 overall) on Dec. 12.
Union defense holds Perrydale to five points
PILOT ROCK — Union finished up the 1A Preview Tournament in Pilot Rock by holding Perrydale to just five points in a 40-5 win on Saturday, Dec. 9.
The victory came after two days of losses for the Bobcats. On Dec. 7, Crane rolled over Union, 71-26, and on Dec. 8 the Bobcats found themselves on the wrong end of a closer 40-31 score.
Team and individual statistics were not provided for the tournament games.
Union (3-2 overall) will now play host to its own tournament, the Bobcat Classic, starting Thursday, Dec. 14.
Cove closes out John Howey with win
MAUPIN — After a 62-26 loss on Friday, Dec. 8, Cove rebounded on Dec. 9 with a 39-21 win over the Madras junior varsity to end the John Howey Memorial Tournament with a 1-1 showing.

Cove (3-2 overall) is again on the road on Dec. 14 to take part in the Bobcat Classic at Union High School.
