High school boys basketball: Leopards 10 points better than Cardinals

ARLINGTON — Taking to the road, Cove took a 10-point win over the Ione/Arlington Cardinals, 57-47, on Tuesday, Dec. 19 in nonleague action.

Wyatt Burgess led Cove in the victory with 20 points even after sitting early in the first quarter due to foul trouble. With over six minutes left in the opening eight minutes, Burgess picked up his second foul and sat the remainder of the quarter. He ended the first half with 10 points, adding the additional 10 points in the second half.
“Nathanael (O’Reilly) played great defense for us, holding their top scorer in check,” Cove head coach Matthew Buss said.
Both Caleb Carson and Micah Jayne ended the night in double digit scoring to back up Burgess.

Cove (7-2 overall) is again away from the home gym on Dec. 22 with a trip to take on Prairie City/Burnt River (3-4 overall).
