WALLOWA — Zoe Hermens scored 15 points, including 11 in the first half, leading Wallowa to a 42-21 win over Elgin on Thursday, Dec. 21.

Wallowa started the game strong, putting in 15 points in the first quarter, slowing down some in the second but still led 23-11 at the half.

The Cougars’ Sophie Moeller added 12 points and Abby Straight ended with 10 points.

Elgin’s Sofie Adams put in seven points to lead the Huskies. Carly McLaughlin added five points to the total.

Both Wallowa (7-3 overall) and Elgin (3-6 overall) will be back on the court just two days after Christmas as the Cougars and Huskies are at Powder Valley High School for the Eastern Oregon Holiday Crossover beginning Dec. 27.
