SISTERS — La Grande opened the Sisters Shootout tournament on Thursday, Dec. 28, with a 12-point loss to undefeated 4A Henley, 57-45.

“We started poorly, got down by 13 and then trailed at the half by nine,” La Grande head coach Brian Wright said. “We came back in the third and went up by four, then trailed by three at the end of the third quarter.”

The final eight minutes of the game proved the deciding factor in the Tigers’ loss.

“A few missed shots and some poor decisions on fouling and we just dug ourselves a hole we couldn’t get out of late,” Wright said. “We are showing stretches of good play so if we can put it together, it will be good in the end.”

Team and individual statistics were not available.

La Grande (7-4 overall) is scheduled to play the second of three games in the Sisters tournament on Dec. 29, taking the floor against 3A Banks (7-2 overall).
