Bible study groups meet throughout the week

LA GRANDE — The La Grande First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will meet at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, for worship. Adult Bible study is held at 9 a.m.

The church office reopens Wednesday, Jan. 3. Also on Jan. 3, Christian Women’s Fellowship meets at 11 a.m. The Homemakers Bible Study meets Jan. 4 at 1:30 p.m. On Monday, Jan. 8, the Mighty Men Bible study begins at 11 a.m., and the Devoted Daughters Bible Study is at 4 p.m.

Weekly lessons in 2024 will be based on Book of Mormon

NORTHEAST OREGON — Many of the wards and branches in the La Grande Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have new meeting schedules starting in January. Members are reminded to consult their local leadership for the new times. On Sunday, Jan. 7, members of the congregations will speak during the Sacrament services, and Sunday school classes will be held during the second hour.

The “Come, Follow Me” lessons for 2024 will be based on the Book of Mormon, with the lesson for the week of Jan. 2 focusing on the introductory pages (the title page, the Testimonies of Three Witnesses, The Testimonies of Eight Witnesses, and the Testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith). All lesson materials are available on the church’s website or from the free “Gospel Library” app.
