The victory brings to a halt a three-game losing streak marked by illness prior to Christmas.
“Tonight was a really good team win as there were contributions from everyone in out rotation,” Union head coach Odin Miller said. “Weston shot the ball really well in the first quarter but we weathered the storm and stayed strong to go up by 10 at the half. After the half, we took off and never looked back.”
The TigerScots put up 23 points in the first quarter, before the Bobcats answered with a 22-6 run through the second quarter.

The hot shooting continued in the second half, while the Union defense again held the TigerScots to only eight points in the final quarter.
“Our fast break was really effective and we got hot from three,” Miller said. “I am really proud of the boys tonight and how they battled a really athletic team.”
Union’s Evan Cloutier added to the offensive attack with 13 points.
Miller was pleased to again have a healthy team on the floor. Losses against Grant Union, Trinity Lutheran and Mannahouse Academy saw Union taking the court much less than 100%, according to Miller.
“It was nice to get back on the court after our tough road trip before Christmas,” he said. “That was a brutal trip. By the time we played Grant Union, over half the team was really sick. By Friday’s game, everybody but one kid was super sick. By halftime on Saturday, half the normal rotation was vomiting in trash cans in the locker room. We had a charter bus and a really nice place to stay and the boys couldn’t even enjoy it. It’s being coined the trip from hell.”
Union (9-3 overall) begins 1A Old Oregon League play on Jan. 5 hosting Elgin (2-9 overall). The two teams kick off the push towards a league title at 7:30 p.m. in the Bobcat gym.
