REDMOND — La Grande is safely back at home and celebrating a third-place team finish after two days of action at the Oregon Classic Duals in Redmond.

The Tigers started the action on Friday, Jan. 12, in pool play with a first-round win over Scappoose, 72-12. Round two saw the Tigers roll over Madras, 72-3, before picking up a bye in round three. After the rest, La Grande was back on the mats and defeating Estacada, 72-6. In the final match of the day, Crook County handed the Tigers their first loss, 37-23.

Day two started with La Grande defeating Greater Oregon League foe Pendleton, 49-24. In the semifinals, Sweet Home picked up a win over the Tigers, 45-22. Taking the mats for the final matches and a battle for third place, La Grande beat Cascade, 42-33.
