LA GRANDE — An American Red Cross blood drive is taking place Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 16-17, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Gekeler Lane in La Grande. According to a Red Cross press release, the blood supply is at critically low levels nationwide, and blood and platelet donors are urged to make a donation to help alleviate the shortage and help ensure lifesaving medical procedures are not put on hold.
The Tuesday drive runs from noon to 6 p.m., and Wednesday’s is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drop-ins are welcome but appointments are encouraged. To make an appointment, go to https://www.redcross.org/local/idaho.html, scroll down to the blood drives section and enter your ZIP code; download the Red Cross Blood Donor App; or call 1-800-RED CROSS.

Those who give blood, platelets or plasma in January will automatically be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.
