High school boys basketball: Imbler remains undefeated in OOL after victory over Joseph

IMBLER — The Imbler boys basketball team moved to 4-0 in the Old Oregon League standings with a 62-25 victory over Joseph on Thursday, Jan. 18, in Imbler.
The Imbler defense held the Eagles to only nine points in the first half with the Panthers holding a comfortable 34-9 lead at the break. Imbler coach Tony Haddock sat down many of his starters in the second half.
“The kids worked hard on both offense and defense,” Haddock said of the win. “Our team defense has been solid, Dallin Rasmussen in particular. He is the tone setter for us on defense.”
Justin Frost scored 31 points playing in only 2-1/2 quarters to lead Imbler.
“Justin was great offensively tonight,” Haddock said.
Jake Bingaman added eight points for the Panthers and Wyatt Burns and Henry Treat each ended the game with six points.
In the loss, Joseph’s Kane Johnson put in nine points.
Imbler (16-2 overall, 4-0 1A Old Oregon League) is on the bus on Jan. 19 with a trip to Pine Eagle (1-15 overall, 0-3 1A Old Oregon League).
Joseph (5-11 overall, 1-3 1A Old Oregon League) returns home on Jan. 19 looking to break a two-game losing streak with a game versus Powder Valley (7-9 overall, 1-2 1A Old Oregon League). The two teams take the court at 7:30 p.m.
