OSAA ranking in parentheses. All games on Tuesday, Jan. 23. Times listed are Pacific.

Nixyaawii at Union

Time: 6 p.m.

Most Popular

Records: Nixyaawii (31) 5-8 overall, 2-1 1A Old Oregon League; Union (17) 12-5 overall, 2-1 1A Old Oregon League

Overview: Two teams tied with identical league records meet in Union.

Like many teams, the Golden Eagles saw their last game called off due to weather. Nixyaawii last took the court for a game on Jan. 13, a 57-37 league victory over Pilot Rock. In league play, the Golden Eagles downed Griswold but dropped a game to Echo, a game that saw Nixyaawii lose by 30 points.

Union comes off a loss also to Echo but by only 10 points on Jan. 19. The Bobcats will need to make up a league game with Griswold originally scheduled for Jan. 20. Prior to the loss to Echo, the Bobcats had an eight-game win streak going.

Both teams need this win. Echo remains league perfect and Imbler, Powder Valley and Joseph all sit with 4-1 league records.

Elgin at Griswold

Time: 6 p.m.

Records: Elgin (35) 5-9 overall, 1-1 1A Old Oregon League; Griswold (65) 6-7 overall, 0-2 1A Old Oregon League

Overview: Elgin hits the road with a chance to go above .500 in the league standings. The Huskies found their first league victory with a win over Pilot Rock the last time on the court on Jan. 16. That win broke a three-game skid for Elgin.

It has been 10 days since the Grizzlies took the court as weather called off a meeting with Union on Jan. 20. On Jan. 13, Griswold suffered a 21-point loss to Echo and look to get back to winning with a home court game versus Elgin.

The Elgin/Nixyaawii game has been cancelled due to weather and road conditions.
