WILSONVILLE — Riding a two-game winning streak in the Greater Oregon League, La Grande moved up two spots in the latest coaches poll released Tuesday, Jan. 24, by the Oregon School Activities Association.
Ranked 10th last week, wins over both Pendleton and Ontario pushed the team to eighth in the most recent poll.
Baker, the upcoming game for the Tigers on Jan. 26, is tied with Seaside for the ninth position in the poll.
Henley, undefeated for the season, continues to hold down the top position in the poll, followed by Astoria and Philomath. Klamath Union and Stayton round out the top five.
The OSAA rankings have La Grande ranked ninth followed by Baker in tenth.
Eighth is also the showing for the Imbler girls, the lone local team in the 1A poll.
