COVE — The margin of victory lessened this time but Cove downed Powder Valley, 41-30, Thursday, Jan. 25, for the second time this season.

In the first matchup on Jan. 12 the Leopards downed the Badgers by 15 points.

Cove (15-5 overall, 5-1 1A Old Oregon League) now looks to avenge an earlier loss with a trip to Imbler (17-2 overall, 5-0 1A Old Oregon League) in a game pitting the top-two teams in the league standings. The Panthers handed Cove the team’s lone league loss on Jan. 5, a game that saw Imbler down Cove 56-40.

Powder Valley (7-12 overall, 1-5 1A Old Oregon League) is also attempting a repeat. On Jan. 4, the Badgers claimed the team’s lone league victory in an overwhelming 70-39 over Pine Eagle (1-17 overall, 0-5 1A Old Oregon League). These same two teams meet Jan. 26 in Halfway.
