IMBLER — Playing in its home gym, Imbler had an easy night cruising past Wallowa, 49-19, in a 1A Old Oregon League contest on Saturday, Jan. 27.

Imbler outscored Wallowa 15-6 in the first quarter and led comfortably at halftime, 34-12. With the Cougars only able to add seven points in the second half, the Panthers’ bench was on the court for most of the second half.

Imbler’s Wyatt Burgess was deadly from the perimeter, scoring 15 of his game high 17 points from the 3-point line. Jake Bingaman added nine points.

Wallowa’s Isaac Barnum put in 10 points and Gabe Nobles added seven points in the loss.

Imbler (19-2 overall, 7-0 1A Old Oregon League) looks to continue perfection in the league with a trip to Powder Valley (8-12 overall, 2-5 1A Old Oregon League) on Feb. 2. Imbler previously downed the Badgers 42-25 on Jan. 11.

Wallowa (9-12 overall, 3-4 1A Old Oregon League) returns home on Feb. 1 looking to break a two-game skid against Cove (15-6 overall, 5-2 1A Old Oregon League). Wallowa will try to avenge a 53-46 loss on Jan. 19.
