Organ concert broadcast Feb. 2 from Temple Square
NORTHEAST OREGON — Sunday, Feb. 4 is Fast Sunday for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Members are encouraged to fast for 24 hours (two meals) while seeking spiritual strength and guidance in areas of their choice. All donated fast offerings will be used by church leaders to help the less fortunate. Testimonies will be shared during the Sacrament service, and Sunday school classes will be held during the second hour.
The “Come, Follow Me” lesson for the week of Jan. 29 is based on 1 Nephi 16-22, which is found in the Book of Mormon. In these chapters Nephi is commanded to build a ship in which the group sails to the promised land. Nephi quotes the words of Isaiah as he teaches his extended family many gospel principles.
On Friday, Feb. 2, there will be an Organ Virtuoso Concert broadcast from 6:30-7:30 p.m. (PST) from Temple Square. All are welcome to view this event and enjoy the music. Visit the church website for details.
