LA GRANDE — Are you living your best life? Many would say they are trying, but admittedly everyone needs a little help from time to time. That’s where certified life coach practitioner Robyn Beardsley Dix can be of professional assistance.

Dix, the owner of Aspire 2.0, specializes in self-love, personal growth and positive thinking and has expanded her offerings to include growth functionality as well as employee-employer relationships with an emphasis on excellent customer service.

“I want to help as many people as I can,” she said.

“Aspire” refers to change and achieving goals, and the “2.0” implies an improved version of yourself, Dix said. Likewise, the dragon in many cultures represents change, so her carefully designed business name and logo points to its purpose — to help people become a better version of themselves.

Aspire 2.0 is a home-based business in La Grande, but Dix said she also provides coaching sessions remotely by phone or video conferencing to help anyone, anywhere in the world. Her preference, though, is face-to-face discussions.

“I want to help people starting in my own community because I’ve lived here my whole life,” she said.

Dix received her education and certification as a life coach practitioner in British Columbia, Canada, at Certified Coaches Federation in November 2022. Her education includes best business practices with a focus on business growth through strategies that improve positivity, employer-employee relationships and especially customer service.

Dix has years of work experience in the customer service aspect of business, and she has won awards and trips for her personal performance in that field. Wherever she has worked, she has always provided a coaching role, voluntarily or by appointment, to help co-workers become more positive and successful in their work.

Since the pandemic, however, she has noticed a decline in customer service practices in many businesses, and Dix has identified strained employee-employer relationships as one cause for this.

“If you’re a happy person, you take that to work and everybody’s better for it,” she said. “Being more positive in your own life changes your whole world. You talk in a different way, and you’re more positive.”

In addition to business applications, Dix’s formal education includes personal life coaching strategies that promote good communication, self-love and respect in daily life settings and at home. Though she’s not a therapist, Dix will refer a person for professional therapy if circumstances indicate that is best for the client.

Otherwise, her life coaching sessions discuss confidential issues, and she offers problem-solving strategies on topics that touch on mental fitness, coping with and navigating grief, intuitive and spiritual issues, relationship challenges with family or friends, personal growth or transformation, and overcoming obstacles to forgiveness.

“Our first visit is free and that’s when we get to know each other and decide if we want to work together,” she said. “I listen to my clients and what they want, and then I streamline our discussion to what they want.”

During the coaching sessions, Dix will set goals for the client to practice, then helps her client find ways to reach those goals. The client is held accountable to practice and work toward that goal.

“I help people go from where they are now to where they want to be,” she said. “A lot of people are surface happy but deep down, they don’t really love themselves.”

That’s why self-love is an important issue that Dix addresses through progressive discussions and problem-solving strategies to guide a client to successfully achieve personal growth, happiness and success in their relationships with others.
