SCAPPOOSE — Male wrestlers around the state have qualified for the upcoming state tournament. On Friday, Feb. 16, the girls will take to the mats hoping for the same.

The 4A/3A/2A/1A Special District 1 meet opens at Scappoose High School with wrestlers taking the mats at 5 p.m.

Teams representing Elgin, Enterprise/Wallowa, Imbler, Joseph, La Grande and Union/Cove are scheduled to be in attendance.

On Feb. 17, wrestling starts at 10 a.m. with finals for all weight classes beginning at 4 p.m.

The top-five finishers in each weight classification qualify for the state tournament beginning Feb. 22 in Portland.
